My final portfolio

As the final assignment for class, I've garnered here five of my favorite creations that I've made this semester. These creations are all indicative of who I am as a person and show a lot of the ways that I think and feel about the world, people, businesses, leaders, etc. I hope you enjoy this compilation!

Chicago at sundown

I lived in Chicago for 2 and a half years. In that short time, this city managed to steal my heart. I believe a part of me will always remain here and that's why I wanted to share a little bit about it. What better to show the places that have shaped me as a person than with a picture?

In this creation, we had just learned to analyze the visual rhetoric of images. Whatever comes to you when you look at this picture is totally fine as we can't all agree on everything. But, one opinion that I think is probably unanimous is that if you've never been to Chicago this picture should convince you to add it to your bucket list.

An argument against animal cruelty

I'm still not sure if James expected this to be my topic for a pitch as it's a really unusual one. However, I am really passionate about animal rights maybe just as much as I'm passionate about human rights. I believe that the ways we treat animals (although they have improved) are incredibly unfair and cruel. Here I explain why that is and why we should probably think more about the choices that we make on a daily basis regarding animals because we have more of an impact than you might think. If you have a minute to hear why I think one day we'll all die because of this please do so. I promise I won't be judging you in my pitch (too much)...

Oh and here's a picture of Flower from Bambi because he's a cutie:

Women in the workplace... and in school, and in public and everywhere else

As I just mentioned, I support human rights very strongly. And of course, women's rights are part of that. Talking about women in the workplace made me feel really agitated about the treatment that we receive on a daily basis. If you feel like this should change (even remotely) then maybe you'll like this post too. This meme is also very indicative of my personality as I love adding humor to difficult topics and situations to lighten them or satirize them. Come on, it's funny!

Crises ... all the crises

This post really speaks to me and the experiences that I've had to deal with since I can remember. Even recently, I've had to deal with a lot of crises with pretty much all of the businesses that I have an account with or receive services from. A lot of times, businesses will do anything before accepting their wrongdoings and apologize and I hope that the meme that I created can attest to that. It seems like the only way we can be happy as consumers is when we realize that as long as we share our information with businesses then it'll never be truly, completely private. It's just the way it is.

I also like cats, and this picture is really funny.

Diversity should be ubiquitous

Just like with women's rights, I am incredibly passionate about diversity and inclusion. Nowadays, people from a lot of different backgrounds and with tons of different stories, abilities, and disabilities are getting more recognition. And it's well deserved. One of my classmates inspired me to write this in another language and it was really fun and indicative of who I am.
