In today's class, we discussed the different theories regarding companies' organizational structures that were necessary in the dawn of the Industrial Revolution and how they all have both pros and cons.
The theory that stood out to me was Frederick Taylor's scientific management. This type of management focused on the productivity of organizations as Taylor believed that building a successful systematic management should focus on the efficiency of workers.
However, a lot of problems later arose from Taylor's principles, mainly because he influenced companies to treat workers a lot like cogs in a machine as opposed to real people with ideas, emotions, and other necessities that also need to be addressed.
The following graphic representation showcases the results of what I believe Taylor originally thought would be a useful and infallible method of management.
